20 Years of Experience Breeding Maine Coons
Remember back in 1998? We had two little ones keeping us on our toes, and somehow managed to raise a whole litter of Maine Coons alongside them! Between soccer games, gymnastics meets, room mom duty (for both kids!), and my crazy hours as a PICU nurse, it was a wild ride.
But here’s the thing: breeding these amazing cats right requires focus, financial stability, and most of all, a huge love for the breed. If I couldn’t give them the best, I just couldn’t keep going. So, guess what? Miracles happen! The girls grew up, graduated college, landed awesome jobs, and suddenly we were empty nesters (well, almost – wink wink). That’s when the chance to revisit our love for Maine Coons came knocking.
The desire to fully dedicate myself to breeding Maine Coons, these cats we hold so dear, never truly faded. With Rick’s unwavering support, we embarked on a journey to make this dream a reality! For two years, we juggled our existing jobs with the intensive work of establishing Salty Coons. Finally, in April 2021, after a fulfilling 35-year career in pediatric nursing, I was able to fully retire and focus all my attention on our cattery.
My background in pediatric nursing surprisingly translates beautifully to caring for Maine Coon kittens. The meticulous attention to detail and understanding of development crucial in caring for newborns allows me to provide the best possible start for our precious little furballs. From recognizing early signs of illness to implementing life-saving measures, my knowledge ensures their safety and well-being in those critical first weeks
Over the years, our family has welcomed countless Maine Coons into our home, not just as breeding stock, but as cherished companions. My background as a registered nurse, coupled with years of dedicated observation and research, has given me a deep understanding of this magnificent breed.
We prioritize constant human interaction for our feline family. That’s why, upon retirement, I was thrilled to dedicate myself to their well-being 24/7. We’ve carefully selected our breeding program over the past eight years, hand-picking and importing breeding stock from the most reputable European catteries, renowned for their exceptional Maine Coons.

Our dedication to providing exceptional care for our Maine Coons has paid off. Both our catteries underwent a thorough inspection by our veterinarian, who then submitted a detailed application on our behalf. We were evaluated across a wide range of criteria, including spacious living areas for each cat, proper ventilation and access to fresh air, natural light, impeccable cleanliness, sufficient litter boxes, high-quality food and water readily available, overall cat hygiene and coat condition, healthy weight maintenance, and much more. This recognition is a tremendous honor and reflects the tireless efforts we put into creating a loving and healthy environment for our feline friends.
Maine Coon Kittens
Salty Coon’s goal is to produce the perfect CFA or TICA registered Maine Coon Kitten just for you. We have literally scanned all of Europe looking for the biggest, most extreme, and most beautiful cats so we can provide the very best kittens for you!
On the day you pick up your kitten, he or she will have had all first shots and all testing as required by Florida Law.
We will provide you with a current Florida Health Certificate from a licensed Florida veterinarian and a spay/ neuter agreement, as all of our kittens must be spayed or neutered within six months of adoption.
